HOW TO SIZE

Collars

TIP #1:

Using a soft measuring tape or string, wrap it gently around where your dogs collar normally lies and use the number to select the proper size collar.

*if using string mark spot with your finger and then lie flat and measure the length

TIP #2:

  • Using the collar your dog currently wears, lay it on a flat surface and use a measuring tape to find out your dogs correct collar size.

*the example dog has an 18 in neck (would wear a size Large)*

Slip Collars

TIP #1:

Adjust your dog's collar so it easily slides on and off of your dogs head. Then measure the length of the collar.

    • If your pup has a wider head than neck or you prefer a looser fit, you may want to add an extra 1/2 to 1 inch to your measurement.

TIP #2:

Measure the largest part of your dogs head with a soft measuring tape or piece of string.

*Loop around the top of the head to underneath the chin.*

Hands-Free Leash

The advertised length of the hands-free leash reflects its total length when used as a standard leash. It does not include the portion used across your body or waist.

To help you choose the right size, here are some tips and examples:

  • Personal Measurement: Measure the distance around your body (cross-body or waist) where you plan to wear the leash. Subtract this from the advertised leash length to estimate how much leash will be left for your dog.

  • Dog’s Height: Consider your dog’s height at the shoulders. A taller dog may need less leash length, while a shorter dog may need more to provide comfortable movement.

  • Activity Type: Think about how you plan to use the leash. If your dog needs extra length for sniffing or walking further ahead, opt for a longer leash. For closer control, a shorter length may be better.

  • Each leash has a snap hook on both ends - the total length of the leash (hook to hook) is about 8 inches longer than the advertised length of the leash (to account for a standard leash handle).

For example:

  • I’m 5'9" and my cross-body measurement is 58 inches. If I choose an 8-foot (104 inches) leash, I subtract my measurement, leaving me with about 46 inches (just shy of 4 feet) of leash for my Labrador, who is 22 inches tall at the shoulders.

  • If wearing the leash around my waist (measurement 38 inches), the same leash would leave me with about 66 inches (5.5 feet) of leash.

Hands-Free Leash Adapter

The hands-free leash adapter is designed to be worn across your body or around your waist. It does not include the leash itself, so you’ll want to ensure the adapter fits comfortably for your intended use.

1. Measure Your Body

  • For Cross-Body Wear: Use a flexible measuring tape to measure diagonally from your shoulder to the opposite hip, following the path where you’d like the adapter to sit.

  • For Waist Wear: Measure around your waist at the level where you want the adapter to rest.

2. Consider Adjustability

The adapter features adjustable hardware to fine-tune the fit. Choose a size range where your measurement falls comfortably in the middle. If you’re unsure, sizing up is a good option for extra adjustability or layering over clothing.

3. Custom Sizing

If your measurements fall outside the available size ranges or you need a more tailored fit, please message me for custom sizing options.

4. Activity Considerations

Think about how you’ll use the adapter:

  • For active pursuits like running or hiking, you may prefer a snug fit.

  • For casual walks or training, a slightly looser fit might be more comfortable.
